RFI Shares the 'Kasalo' Culture of Rebisco Through Their Successful Feeding Program Launch!
As the Academic Year of 2021 commenced in full swing, Rebisco Foundation Inc. (RFI) launched its Modified Feeding Program in five elementary schools within the Rebisco plant sites last September.
The recipient schools are Abangan Norte Elementary School (Marilao, Bulacan), Post Elementary School (Calamba, Laguna), Bienvenido Fojas Memorial Elementary School (Tanza, Cavite), Macapagal Village Elementary School (Mabalacat, Pampanga) and Parsolingan Elementary School (Gerona, Tarlac).
Since 2016, RFI has been implementing a school feeding program where wasted and severely wasted pupils in Rebisco school communities receive daily nutritious meals for nine months. This is so that they can gain normal weight and improve their class performance. RFI also cooperates with partner schools that have assigned feeding coordinators to help monitor the children’s nutrition progress and learning performance.
This program was halted last year due to the pandemic. In keeping with our company’s commitment to serve plant communities, RFI modified this by providing substantial food supplies for selected undernourished pupils and their families. A total of 250 pupils (50 per school) are set to receive a monthly supply of 10 kilograms of rice and a ‘Kasalo’ bucket containing macaroni packs, assorted canned goods, Rebisco snacks, and cooking oil.
Through this initiative, we contribute to the pupils’ food needs which can be shared to siblings who need nourishment while learning at home.
The program launch was marked with delight as the parents gratefully received their goods which would ensure their children’s sustained nourishment throughout the school year. Truly, Rebisco will always be a Kasalo, especially in these challenging times.
Congratulations to RFI for the success of their feeding program launch!
May we continue to nurture more Filipino families through our kasalo culture.
