Showing Care and Compassion: Rebisco Wraps Up the Year with Medical Missions
Since 2009, the Rebisco Foundation, Inc. (RFI) has annually conducted medical missions in plant
communities of Rebisco through its Alay Kalusugan, Kaakibat ng Pamilya (AKKaP) Program. This
outreach event embodies the values of volunteerism and compassion, contributing significantly to the
well-being of the community.
Rebisco actively involves itself in medical missions, which demonstrates a commitment to corporate
social responsibility.
The AKKaP program mobilizes doctors for free consultations, and prepares the needed medicines to be
given away.
The company has participated in medical missions before, and a handful of Rebisco employees and RFI
scholars have sacrificed a portion of their time on weekends to assist beneficiaries. Partner teachers and
barangay health workers also move as one force to serve the community.
The mission came to a halt during the COVID-19 pandemic. Once it was safe to hold group activities and
events, RFI re-activated the AKKaP Medical Mission program to prioritize communities in the provincial
plants of Rebisco. This brought joy and excitement to Rebisco employees, school and barangay partners,
and doctor-volunteers.
A total of 2,443 individuals were served in the five medical missions held in Bukidnon, Marilao, Laguna,
Pampanga and Tanza. The beneficiaries of the medical missions included the recipients of RFI’s feeding
program, who were undernourished pupils needing vitamins and basic medical assistance.
RFI extends its gratitude to the administrative personnel, nurses and medical authorities who supported
Rebisco in this endeavor. We thank our employee and scholar volunteers for their dedication to serve
during this year’s medical mission activities!
