Rebisco Partners with DepEd to Bridge the Educational Needs of Schools in Lanao del Norte and Zamboanga
Through the Adopt-a-School Program of the Department of Education (DepEd) and with the goal of
inclusive education for all Filipino learners, Rebisco had the opportunity to partner with its first school
divisions in the DepEd Lanao del Norte and Zamboanga Divisions.
This partnership enabled us to reach out to geographically-isolated and disadvantaged schools in the
provinces of Lanao del Norte and Zamboanga where we helped bridge the learning gaps of students by
donating branded activity worksheets.
Beginning October 2022, Rebisco had started engaging with the Western Mindanao Command of the
Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on the logistical aspect of the initiative.
After corresponding with different AFP units in Manila and Zamboanga, we were able to ship out the
first batch of our branded activity worksheets last January 2023.
The worksheets were transported through the C130 military aircraft from AFP Taguig to Zamboanga,
and another 12-hour land trip via the military truck to DepEd Lanao del Norte.
Mr. Edwin R. Maribojo and Ms. Rasmila M. Cosmain of DepEd Lanao del Norte and Zamboanga,
expressed their heartfelt gratitude for Rebisco's donation and support. “Rebisco is our first partner on
instructional support who provided 652,500 copies of worksheets,” they said.
This act of kindness exhibited by Rebisco is an excellent example of how we can help learners in the
far-flung areas of Mindanao.
May we continue to pour all our support into activities like these that create a positive change in
the lives of Filipino learners!
